Longer Sunday - Restful Monday -Entry for August 13, 2007

So I did manage to get out for a longer run Sunday, at 1:35. Probably 12 -12.5 miles. I was going pretty easy. I went out expecting to run into someone, going the usual route down the bike trail here, and did see Mary Camire and Vin Hey from a great distance. Mary, for those who don't know, runs Camire's Athletic Soles in Wakefield, RI and Kelley's Pace in Mytic, CT. Click her link above, buy some shoes and GU, etc. (there's my pitch). She's a great person.... a great runner and triathlete, as well. Vin just runs for days, literally, he ran a Three Day, consecutive marathon challenge I think in Salt Lake a few years back.  But after a few whistles to try to get their attention, I figured I'd go it alone, They were heading inland, and I was going to go toward the beach. I actually changed my route up and went on some less traveled roads (well less run on, I drive them every day). They was nice, since the grade and the views were unfamiliar to me. Still pretty achy for too many miles, but there you have it. Long Sundays are back in prep for the fall marathon. More I think about it, the RI Breakers Marathon is so damn convenient. You get to sleep in your own bed and get up at a reasonable hour and run in your backyard. Hmm. Well, we'll see.
